The owner greeted me with a proposition. Desiring a new format for their business calendar, he saw an opportunity to both showcase a local artist and exhibit professional skill in designing and printing an upscale art calendar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I agreed to his offer wholeheartedly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The calendar was generously distributed by the publisher through our community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4-1024x899.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6823\" width=\"410\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4-1024x899.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4-300x263.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4-768x674.jpeg 768w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4-1536x1348.jpeg 1536w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4-342x300.jpeg 342w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image4.jpeg 1635w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s through this calendar that many of you found my work, and our friendships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One recipient, an instant fan, has connected me with as many <strong><em>collectors as any gallery<\/em><\/strong> representing me has. <strong>And that\u2019s quite a feat.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A tremendous champion of the work, she has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Become of a subscriber to all my news &amp; social media.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Suggested my name to Nature Clubs for presentations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brought collectors to my Studio who have purchased work.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Enthusiastically shared my website on all her social media platforms, and with those who collect art, without being intrusive.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Attended every show, presentation, and brought friends.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Asked her office to display original art with rental fee.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Continued to send words of encouragement, remarking on how the work brings her joy and uplifts her.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You might assume she has collected the work, yet she has not purchased a painting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not everyone has the budget, space, or desire to collect work, even if they love it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is an amazing example of what a fan of the work can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Being a patron of a business, and community minded is also finding ways to share what you love.<\/em> If you are restricted from purchasing because of budget, or if they carry a product you may not like, you may know someone who does.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0-1024x991.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6824\" width=\"454\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0-1024x991.jpeg 1024w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0-300x290.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0-768x743.jpeg 768w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0-310x300.jpeg 310w, http:\/\/www.dawnbanning.com\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image0.jpeg 1257w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 454px) 100vw, 454px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Media requests \u2018support\u2019 for small business are written with wonderful intention. This language can suggest a charitable act. Being a patron of a business isn\u2019t charity work, its beneficial to consumer, who receives goods, and the business, who receives payment for those goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your favourite restaurant has your patronage, and you enjoy their amazing homemade soup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>( Thanks Anchor CoffeeHouse! www.anchorcoffeehouse.com )&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many ways to be a champion of business\u2019s you love. You make a difference with your actions, Yes. You also make a difference with your words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&nbsp;<strong>We share what we love, because we love it, and know others will too.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This particular fan, like the generous calendar publisher, are now collectors of my work. My gift of originals were received with surprise. Unexpected, made the giving even sweeter.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With gracious <strong><em>thank you<\/em><\/strong> to all of you who spread the word, collect the work, and share what you love. You unite us all by sharing and <em><strong>shine much light in the world.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New, evolved \u201cLight in the Valley\u201d 24&#215;30 original oil $ 2170.oo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P.S <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few years ago I had the pleasure of a private chat with an internationally known singer songwriter. She spoke of her definition of fan. She said &#8220;many  call themselves fans when they hear your music on the radio. But a real fan is more than that, a real fan shows up. They buy tickets to shows and bring friends, they buy your Cd&#8217;s and share your music with their networks and friends.&#8221; ( currently, stream live shows, paying for virtual tickets). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said,&#8221; I , in turn, show up too. I work hard, and I show up to do my best work.
